At your first appointment, your osteopath will take a detailed case history and carry out a careful examination to find out what’s been causing your symptoms. They will identify any problems that may be contributing to the problem such as stiff joints and tight muscles. Following this they’ll be able to provide you with a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan. This will include advice about posture, exercise and diet that will help.
Your treatment will involve hands-on techniques including massage, joint articulation and manipulation techniques. Treatment is often required to other areas of the body away from the site of the pain which are contributing to the current problem or been brought about by your body compensating.
Proposed treatment will be explained to you beforehand. Different options will be discussed so that you are fully involved in your treatment plan
