We hope you all had a fantastic festive period. Now that we’re firmly into the New Year our minds have turned to what we have ahead for the New Year.
This might be big lifestyle changes such as a new job. It might be smaller changes to our week to free up some time for exercise. Or you might just be doing some early holiday planning.
At Mid Sussex Osteopaths, our big change for the New Year has happened this week. We are pleased to announce that have just moved to bigger, better and brighter rooms!
Exciting news
After over ten years working from the current room at the Dolphin, we’re delighted to announce that we have moved to new premises! Don’t worry, this won’t involve driving around the lesser known country lanes of Haywards Heath or driving up and down the High Street looking for parking. We’ve moved just up the corridor!
As many of you will know, the Leisure Centre underwent substantial renovation last year. We’ve seen a new training room built, Costa Coffee moved in and a soft play area was been constructed. The last part of the development was the creation of two new treatment rooms for Mid Sussex Osteopaths.

Improved space
This means you can still enjoy the convenience of our current location, but we can improve the services we offer you. The main room will be where the osteopathy takes place. It’ll be bigger and brighter and having more space will make it a more therapeutic environment. It’ll also give us more room to show you any exercises that we recommend. Once we’re settled in, we also plan to have a plasma screen in the room that will also help us demonstrate a range of exercises.
New and additional services
Our second room will be for other therapists to run clinics that may be of interest either in their own right or as adjuncts to your osteopathic treatment. That means we are now also able to offer podiatry with Jacqueline Coolen and acupuncture with Christine MacFie.
Podiatry
As part of our expansion, we’re delighted to be joined by local podiatrist Jacqueline Coolen. Jacqueline comes with a wealth of experience having worked within the NHS for many years most recently as a Diabetic specialist. She is an expert in foot healthcare and treats many conditions involving the feet such as:
- Corns, callous (hard skin) removal and treatment of verrucae
- Nail problems such as those that have become thickened, ingrowing or affected by infection
- Assessment and treatment of foot pain caused by joint issues such as bunions
Jacqueline is probably a familiar face for regular visitors to the Dolphin Centre because she’s also a Swim England Teacher at he Centre with a background in sports development. You can find out more about Jacqueline and her services on our website.

Acupuncture
As you may already know, we were also lucky enough to be joined recently by Christine MacFie who specialises in acupuncture and is also an accredited member of Anxiety UK.
As well as using traditional acupuncture to help relieve the physical effects of acute and long-term illness and injury, Christine has considerable experience in helping people with stress and anxiety-related issues to improve their mood, relaxation, sleep and daytime energy.
Away from clinic, you’ll find Christine working as a voluntary complementary therapist supporting men and women affected by cancer with acupuncture at the MacMillan Horizon Centre in Brighton. Again, you can find full details on our website.
Come and see us
We moved into our new rooms this week. After many years working from the current room, we’re really excited by the move to bigger, brighter and better rooms. Do come and see us in our new premises and meet our new and extended team and let us help you take better care of yourself.
