What does treatment involve?
At your first visit, a detailed case history will be taken. This will involve a discussion regarding your current symptoms as well as questions concerning your general health and previous medical history. This will allow us to build up a full picture of what is contributing to the current symptoms.
There will then be an examination of your musculoskeletal system. Through observation of some simple movements and a hands-on assessment of the muscles and joints of the body, areas of strain and poor function will be identified and a diagnosis made. This diagnosis and proposed treatment plan will be fully discussed with you.
Your treatment will involve a range of hands-on techniques. These include massage of soft tissues, joint articulation and manipulation techniques. With the latter a pop or click may be heard as the joint is released.
Due to the way the body compensates and adapts, treatment is often required to areas of the body other than that giving symptoms. Treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual and as such, will include discussion and advice regarding posture, exercise and diet.
